Home Theater & Electronics

With all the advancements in technology it's really easy to get confused. If you have questions about HDTV, BluRay, HD-DVD, Home Theaters, DLP, LCD, Plasma, etc.? Please let me help you decide on what you need. Do not go to Best Buy or Circuit City and let them talk you into whatever model they need to move out at that moment.

I can meet with you and we can discuss the formats and decide what's best for you based on the placement, lighting, usage habits, and preferences. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

After you decide what you want, we can get the parts ordered or I can go pick them up locally if you wish. I will deliver, install, and educate you on how to operate, maintain, and service your new setup.

The truth about those expensive cables at retailers like BestBuy

So you go out to Best Buy and pick up the latest Samsung LCD and a BluRay player. Now after taking the plunge and sinking over a $1000 into this investment you are told by the "experts" that you need several hundred dollars worth of cables. NONSENSE! Nothing ticks me off any worse than to hear this crap out of those people!

CABLE 101

Back in the day of analog audio and video the one true front runner in speaker and cable wiring was Monster. And to their credit they do make some nice cables with even nicer decoration around the tips, etc. And in some cases, you can hear a difference in their cable vs some low-end brands...in analog.

But that was in the analog days of the past folks. Todays audio/video is "digital" and it is just that...digital. It is just like the signal on your satelitte TV service. It's either there or it's not...there is no in-between with a digital signal. Therefore there is NO difference in those $100+ Monster brand cables vs a good quality $10 cable...NONE...except the $90 you can save.

If you need a high quality HDMI or any other cable PLEASE give me a yell. I try to keep these in stock at different lengths and at a huge savings. They are quality heavy gauge cables.

Do you REALLY need 1080p?

It's not uncommon to want the latest and greatest. But when it comes to HDTV...do you really need to shell out the extra bucks for 1080p?

Are you looking at a TV over 42"?

Are you really sensitive to the screen door effect on your current television?

How close will your viewing distance be to your new television?

What kind of inputs will you be hooking up to your new television?

All of these questions are factors that can determine if you even need 1080p. 1080p does have the highest resolution currently available. But...most of the sources are still outputting in 1080i or 720p resolution. So, unless you're upgrading to a new BluRay player or gaming on a PS3 or Xbox 360 you will probably never notice the difference and save a few bucks by going with the 720p television.
